Kennebunkport’s Christmas Prelude offers 10 days of holiday fun 11/30-12/10!

Check out the daily celebration of the Christmas holiday at the 10-day Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude!

The first two weeks in December are filled with holiday shopping, tree lightings, trolley rides, craft fairs, caroling and nativities, and even Santa coming in on a lobster boat!

Discover why Kennebunkport was voted the #2 Christmas Town in America by HGTV. It’s a holiday celebration not to be missed! Plenty of cheer and family fun for all ages!

2017 Upcoming Signature Events

Christmas Fireworks Display
Friday, December 8; 6:15pm
Enjoy our Prelude extravaganza that will take place in the cove and can be viewed from the bridge and surrounding areas.

The Walk to Bethlehem
Saturday, December 9; 4:30pm
Be part of the candlelight  procession that follows Mary and Joseph as they seek shelter at three historic inns only to be turned away and finally shown to a manger; hymns, carols, and scripture readings followed by hot chocolate and cookies. Procession begins at the top of the River Green in front of the Captain Lord Mansion off Ocean Avenue.

7th Annual Pooch Parade
Sunday, December 10; 11:00am
Follow the Portland Sea Dog’s Mascot Slugger and your pooches wearing their favorite holiday attire and join in or simply enjoy watching. Parade begins at Consolidated School, School Street/Route 9 east. Strut toward Dock Square to Ocean Avenue & Union Street and finish at the tent at White Columns.

Santa Arrives by Fire Engine
Sunday, December 10; 2:00pm
Meet him at Cape Porpoise Kitchen, Cape Porpoise Square. Photos for children of all ages. Hot chocolate and candy canes aplenty.
