2013 Portland area Holiday Parade Guide: Find one marching near you!

Southern Maine is ready to celebrate the winter holidays and several towns are kicking off the season with a Santa parade and other festive activities. Check out what’s going on in your area!

Gorham Holiday Parade
Sunday, December 1, 2013; 4:30pm
Robie Park and 75 South Street
Festivities, music, and more begin at Robie Park, located on Ball Park Road. Parade route: Line up at Public safety 270 Main St. to South St. to Morrill Ave. to Ball Park Road around Robie Park. Bring your non-perishable foods for Gorham Food Pantry to Robie Park.  You are invited to stop by the Recreation Department and say hello to Santa and Mrs. Claus after the tree lighting!

Ogunquit Christmas by the Sea Parade
Ogunquit Main Beach, Maine
Saturday, December 14, 2013; 3:00pm
Part of the Ogunquit Christmas by the Sea festivities, the annual parade route will be on Main Beach to Perkins Cove. Presented by the Village Spirit Committee. Weather permitting. Activities and family fun happening all weekend, check out their calendar of events.

Old Orchard Beach “Celebrate the Season by the Sea” Parade
Sunday, December 8, 2013; 1:00pm
The festivities begin with a parade down Old Orchard Street ending its route in front of the Chamber of Commerce building on First Street. Horse drawn hay wagon and trolley rides, popcorn, cider with candy canes, coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and other goodies will be available. Face painting, temporary tattoos and free balloons for the children are always a favorite. Children may visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Visitor’s Information Center of the Chamber of Commerce building on First Street. Don’t forget your camera to take free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Annual Parade of Lights
Portland Harbor, Maine
Saturday, December 14th, 2013; 4:30pm
The 13th Annual Portland Harbor Boat Parade of Lights, the magical night of the year when watercraft gather together, draped in their holiday finest. The parade of well-lit boats is visible from the shoreline, and Maine State Pier is a fine place to gather and gawk. But you can also climb aboard a Casco Bay Lines ferry and watch it all from the water. Tickets are $10 (kids under 5 ride free) and go on sale Friday, November 29th.

Saco Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights
Saturday, December 14, 2013; 6:30pm
Come join Toys for Tots and Saco Spirit for our Annual Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights! We’ll have Santa Claus at City Hall (2-4pm), a Cookie Walk (12-4pm), horse drawn hayrides (2pm), tree lighting and caroling (4-4:30pm), the Parade of Lights (6:30pm) and a Supper to sponsor Toy’s For Tots at Most Holy Trinity (4:30-6:30pm)! Get into the spirit of shopping by checking out our unique downtown stores and enjoy listening to music as you walk up and down Main Street!

Southern Maine Holiday Parade
Wells, Maine
Sunday, December 15, 2013; 2:00pm
This is the 29th year of the parade in Wells, Maine. This year’s parade theme is “A Storybook Christmas.” The parade will begin at the Wells Plaza parking lot and continue north on U.S. Route 1 to the Wells Junior High School. View the parade route.
