Been thinking about fostering a child? KidsPeace can help complete your family.

Have you been considering becoming a foster family? Opening your heart and home to a child is the most loving gift you can give.

KidsPeace believes the first placement is the best placement, which is why they take such care to match children with foster families who are best able to meet their needs.

Who is KidsPeace?

KidsPeace, founded in 1882, is a private charity dedicated to serving the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families and communities. The organization was originally a home for children orphaned by a smallpox epidemic, but has grown over the years to meet the ever-changing needs of children and adolescents including a psychiatric hospital; a comprehensive range of residential treatment programs; accredited educational services; and a variety of foster care and community-based treatment programs.

What services does KidsPeace provide?

In addition to meeting basic needs of the children in our program, KidsPeace services range from:

  • specialized treatment foster care and targeted case management
  • outpatient counseling for psychological and psychiatric issues
  • intensive family support services for children with specific needs (i.e. medical issues, developmental delays, learning problems)

Each of their community-based programs feature highly trained foster parents, support staff and clinicians to make sure clients benefit fully from the powerful combination of individualized treatment services delivered in an outpatient/home-based environment.

What makes KidsPeace different from other foster agencies?

Our foster parents tell us that KidsPeace Foster Care is better than other foster care programs because of the special attention our staff gives to every family. We take the time to help our foster parents determine the characteristics of kids that will fit best in their homes; we provide ongoing, child-specific training; and we are available 24/7 to offer support and guidance. Our foster parents tell us time and again that caring for KidsPeace children has enriched their own family lives. View the Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a foster parent.
