It’s that time of year again when local farms are opening up for pick-your-own strawberries and other fruits ripening throughout the summer. The season for any particular fruit is no more than three or four weeks, so don’t delay if you are looking for something specific. See our chart below for typical picking times.

Pick Your Own Calendar

Strawberries: mid-June through mid-July
Cherries: June through July
Blueberries: mid-July through mid-August
Raspberries: mid-August through September
Peaches, Nectarines and Pears: early-August thru mid-September
Apples: mid-August through October

Check out our listing of local pick-your-own facilities and farms. Please be sure to call ahead before visiting as hours and conditions change on a daily basis, especially for the smaller area farms. Many farms offer more than just picking including petting zoos, playgrounds and farmers’ markets. Make a day of it!

We urge you to call ahead each year as many are family owned farms and have to close here and there to let more fields ripen.
