Saturday drop-in “Play Me a Story” interactive theater workshops at Portland Stage.

Do your kids have a flair for the dramatic? Do they easily slip into characters and pretend play? Portland Stage has the perfect outlet for your kids on select Saturday mornings!

“Play Me a Story”, an interactive reader’s theater workshop series, invites children between the ages of 4-10 to enjoy a performance of 2 popular children’s books then explore these tales during an interactive workshop with our teaching artists!

In March, come check out readings of Newbery and Caldecott winning Last Stop on Market Street, some of our Play Me a Story favorites, and New York Times Bestselling books.

Workshops will engage and inspire through vocalization, games, improvisation and movement. Join our professional actors as we explore new and classic children’s stories while encouraging your child’s love of theater and literature.

March “Play Me a Story” Series:
  • Saturdays, March 4, 11, 18, & 25
  • 10:30am-12:00pm
  • $15 each for one child with an adult / $8 per additional person OR $48 for one child with an adult, and save 25%, or pick individual dates that work for you.
