Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is an active community of Shakers and a working farm. It is the only active and functioning Shaker Community in the world. Thousands of visitors have come to explore this unique and sacred place of work and worship. Six of the 18 existing structures at Sabbathday Lake are open to the public. Throughout these buildings there are twenty-seven exhibit rooms which explore a continuum of over 200 years of Shaker heritage in the Maine Communities. Please come and join us for our FREE Family Special Events: Crafts demonstrations, Shape Note Singing, Open Farm Day, Maine Native American Summer Market and Demonstrations, Apple Saturdays, and our Shaker Christmas Fair.
