The Southworth Planetarium is the one place where you can go under the ground to discover the wonders above the sky. What can you do at the planetarium? See a show; enroll in a class….attend a concert; buy fascinating science toys; explore our exhibit area; learn the night sky. The Southworth Planetarium opened in 1970 and despite the University’s understandable misgivings, remains open to this day. Not only do we have public shows, but we offer private shows to school groups, scout troops, birthday parties, business organizations, and more. Like the Universe, itself, the more you explore the planetarium, the more you’ll discover.
