Bike, walk or ride in a traffic-free zone, “Sundays on the Boulevard” each Sunday in September!

What began Sunday, May 5 will continue right up through Sunday, September 29, 2019… a big stretch of Baxter Boulevard in Portland will be closed to auto traffic to ride bikes, run, picnic, and otherwise enjoy the car-free landscape!

Here are the details:

  • The section from Vannah Avenue to Payson Park will be closed to auto traffic.
  • The closure hours each Sunday are 9am-4pm.
  • Producing organizations include the City of Portland, Portland Trails, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, the Back Cove Neighborhood Association, and Healthy Portland.
  • Invite your fans and friends to come down any Sunday to sit, bike, run, picnic, perform or just loaf.

Special programming will be provided throughout the summer (music, yoga, food trucks, games, circus performance…etc). Check their website for a schedule of events.
