Visit ‘The Roaring Twenties” family fun event at the Narrow Gauge 9/21!

The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company and Museum celebrates the heyday of railroading in the United States with a new event The Roaring Twenties, Saturday, September 21st.

The museum will feature its very own “speakeasy” where visitors can sip soda as they enjoy a bit of jazz music. Children can keep busy by making their very own 1920’s accessories to travel in style aboard the train. Visitors are encouraged to dress in period appropriate attire as the best dressed family will win a season pass to the museum.

Railroad traffic reached its peak in the 1920’s and we hope to capture the glamour and magic of time period where railroad travel was an important part of life in Maine. Historic Monson Steam Locomotive #4 will be in service and visitors can enjoy a ride in beautifully restored historic passenger cars.
