The Wells Reserve at Laudholm is a National Estuarine Research Reserve that consists of farm buildings and campus grounds, trails and boardwalks, the Maine Coastal Ecology Center, the Forest Learning Shelter, and the Alheim Commons. We operate programs in coastal research and monitoring, environmental learning and decision-maker training, and land and water resource management. Seven miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails provide access to woodlands, fields, wetlands, beach, and dunes. The Visitor’s Center has exhibits, videos, brochures, trail maps, and a gift shop. Young and old, come learn and explore with us.
