Fiona Landry, 5, of Lewiston socializes with the chickens while collecting eggs at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester on Friday. Seventy-eight people, including more than 50 children, fed and milked a cow, listened to spring peepers, visited farm animals and collected eggs during the “Friday on the Farm” program. Pineland offers various family education programs including “Composting for Kids,” “Udderly Amazing Cows” and “Tractor Day.” Landry came to the farm with her sister, Cecilia, her brother, Rocco, and her mother, Sadie.
