L. L. Bean’s Snowshoeing Discovery Course is a great way to discover how fun, easy and exciting it is making fresh tracks through the sparkling snow.

Course Description

Snowshoeing is a fun and healthy sport that allows you to easily enjoy the outdoors and further explore the untouched wilderness in the winter. Our experienced instructors will demonstrate and teach you all the snowshoeing basics you need to enjoy this relaxing winter activity. Then, they’ll lead you on a guided trek through a local park, sharing their knowledge of the plants and wildlife that thrive in this wintry environment. Be sure to reserve a spot on this exceptional adventure.

All necessary snowshoeing equipment including snowshoes, gaiters and poles will be provided.

Course Information

Prerequisite: None
Activity level: Easy
Minimum age: 8 (14 and under with parent or guardian)
Cost: $25 per person
Dates: Select Saturdays and Sundays through March 15 (see full schedule)

What to Bring Checklist

•     Weather- and activity-appropriate clothing (preferably synthetic*)
•     Waterproof jacket and pants
•     Fleece or wool sweater – appropriate level of insulation for the activity
•     Long underwear tops and bottoms (synthetic or wool)
•     Insulated waterproof boots
•     Warm hat, gloves or mittens
•     Wool or synthetic socks*
•     Sunglasses
•     Personal prescriptions such as EpiPen or inhaler
•     One-quart water bottle (no glass bottles)
