This month, greater Portland welcomes the opening of many area Farmers’ Markets that sell a plethora of fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, flowers, homemade goods and crafts that are grown and produced right here in our backyards from local farms and vendors.
Many markets are held on the weekends—try making this part of your family’s traditional weekend activities (out for breakfast, hit up the Farmers’ Market, get the kids involved with what to buy and then go home to make a delicious/nutritious lunch out of your purchases). Buying local never tasted so good.
