Green Tip: Keeping it clean with cloth napkins.

Here’s another way to get green– Just Say No to paper napkins! Purchasing the paper versions cost you money every week and pile up landfills at a record pace. There is, of course, an initial investment, but cloth napkins will last years and years. And you don’t have to buy the super expensive ones that look and feel like drapery (those don’t work well anyways).

When choosing cloth napkins, think of them like a pair of great bed sheets– get 100% cotton and they’ll get softer and softer with each wash. And unless you’re having gooey ribs for dinner (or something equally as messy), chances are you won’t need to wash them every time. Keep napkins in a personalized napkin ring for every member of your family– that way you can use them multiple times while insuring you aren’t using someone else’s from the night before (ewwww). Try it, and go get your green on!
