Ocean Park’s Annual Festival of Lights and Illumination Night this Saturday. FREE!

The annual Ocean Park community festival of lights, music, and food, celebrates the family-friendly spirit that makes Ocean Park a special place. Illumination Night is a collage of the activities and experiences that make up a summer in Ocean Park.

• 6:30 pm – Fun begins in the Square in front of Jakeman Hall with a Strawberry Shortcake festival.

• 6:00 to 7:30 pm – Concert by the Ocean Park Band in the Square in front of Jakeman Hall.

• 8:00 pm – The annual “Walkabout” from street to street and onto the beach. View the lighted cottages, experience the sights and sounds, and chat with fellow strollers.

Illumination Night Craft Workshop: Make Your Own Luminary
Thursday, July 3, 2014; 9:00 to 10:30 am
Illumination Night is an opportunity for everyone to decorate a cottage, a driveway, a front yard – anywhere people can walk to view the results.  Simple crafts such Chinese lanterns, Chinese take-out containers, and paper bags can be colored, cut or decorated in ways to enhance the look of any porch, window or yard.

This workshop at Oceanwood is an opportunity for folks of any age to come, cut and decorate in anticipation of this year’s Illumination Night.  All materials for the making will be available, but there will be a $5.00 materials fee. Pre-registration and advance payment required by Tuesday, July 29th. Drop in to the OPA office to register, or call 934-9068. All Welcome! Oceanwood Conference Center, 17 Royal St, Ocean Park.
