Join the Children’s Museum on both Sunday and Monday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. through fun programs and lessons perfect for the whole family!

Sunday 1/17 Programs

Join us to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. through stories, art and cooking programs.
MLK Dream Banner Creation
10:45-11:45am
Come learn about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream for all the world to live together in kindness. Using multicolored handprints, we’ll create a banner that celebrates dreaming, sharing and making friends. Free with admission.
A Meal Inspired by Martin (R$)
12:30-1:30pm
$10/members, $12/visitors.
Did you know some of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s favorite foods were fried chicken and pecan pie? All ages are invited to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr. while we chop, mix and bake a pecan pie! While our pie bakes, we will read Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King, Jr. by Jean Marzollo. Then, we will all share in a meal of fried chicken and pecan pie that we’ve made together! To register, call (207) 828-1234 x231, register online, or stop by the front desk.

Happy Birthday, Martin Story Time

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we will read Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King, Jr. by Jean Marzollo and use puppets of all shapes, sizes and characters to explore the significance of Martin’s message of kindness. Free with admission.
